Announcing "Erebus", our 2nd feature film now in pre-production!

Hello all! There has been a frenzy of activity here at Cut To The Chase Productions. Never content to sit on our laurels, we've been keeping the creative juices flowing. While our first feature, Villanelle, continues its progression through its post-production phase, we've been preparing for our next venture into the horror genre : "Erebus".

Where Villanelle was more of an homage to film noir with horror elements, "Erebus" lands squarely within the realm of full on, pure horror. In Greek mythology, Erebus was a place of purgatory between Earth, and the lower depths of Hell. It roughly translates as " the darkness where death dwells". In short, this film is about visceral terror. An anthology film comprised of three stories linked by a common location, the film looks to be our most ambitious and entertaining yet. Stay tuned for more information on the development of the production. We will be launching our fundraising campaign very soon, and will be posting updates on casting and production within the coming weeks. We have also provided the film synopsis as well as the link to the official Erebus facebook page below.

Erebus is an anthology horror film inspired by the well-documented history of supernatural phenomenon in Rhode Island. Using Block Island's intimate setting as a backdrop, Erebus centers around the Gorham House, a mysterious old hotel with a torrid history of violent occult activity, as well as supernatural, and paranormal. Seeking to document the hotel for a new book, Samantha and Benny, journey to investigate the hotel, learning of its terrifying history along the way by relaying three horrifying tales of its previous owners.

"Devil"- Robert Neville was the reclusive inheritor and owner of the Gorham House in the 1950s. Within the bowels of the hotel he harbors a grotesque secret, which unfortunately for him, just got out.

"Exposure"- Frank Martin is a forensic photographer who is commissioned by the historical society to take on the task of photographing all their properties, starting with the Gorham House. As he begins to photograph the premises his pictures expose malevolent presence and he makes the morbid realization that he is not alone...

"Haxan"- When a team of paranormal investigators venture to the Gorham House to investigate the rumored paranormal phenomenon, their pursuit of the supernatural provides their most substantial evidence to date. However, their excitement quickly turns to horror when the contact they establish with the hotel's residents begins to prove fatal.

More Updates...

Hi everyone,

just wanted to give you all a brief update on the progress of our current production as well as some new developments.
We are rapidly drawing close to the last day of principal photography of Villanelle. September 10, 2011 will mark the last shoot for this film. We look forward to reuniting with Rich Tretheway, as well as being graced with the combined talents of Gio Castellano, Mark Carter and Alexandra Cipolla to help bring this intense scene to life.
That second weekend of September will prove to be a quite productive one, as the following day, September 11, we begin rolling on a short film project combining action, suspense and sci-fi elements. While we can't divulge any spoilers on this project, we can say that this first shoot will include the talents of Alexis Ann Rosario, Gio Castellano, Alexandra Cipolla, and Danielle Tellier, and will be one of a few shorts that will serve almost as a mini-serial, in that each ends on a cliffhanger. We look forward to beginning production on this project, and will update you all with more details as they become available.
